All competitors in Surrey county championships must have the appropriate county qualification.
See below for the qualification criteria.

To enter a championship, competitors must enter the race as normal and tick the box on the entry form
or entry screen to indicate that they are Surrey qualified. The normal entry fee must be paid to the race
organisers, but there is no additional fee for the championship.

SURREY COUNTY QUALIFICATION

There are two options:
1 By birth. An athlete may choose (a) residential address at birth or (b) hospital address at birth.
2 By nine months continuous residence in Surrey immediately prior to the event.

Once a residential qualification has been obtained an athlete may keep it until they have resided
for nine months in another county AND competed in a county championship in the other county. If
they do not compete in the other county's championships they may retain their Surrey qualification.

An athlete may only compete in one county's championship in any competition year, i.e October 1st to
September 30th.

For county qualification purposes, Surrey is taken to include the south-west boroughs of London. See for full definition.
