Sunday 28th March was going to be the launch of the South Surrey Network. It’s no longer the launch (which will now take place in the summer) but it should be an excellent day for coaches and their athletes. All the sessions are open to coaches on the LCDP and South Surrey Network Clubs. I will also open it wider from 15th March, to ensure a full house. A massive thank you to Woking AC for hosting this event. We hope to have lots of your coaches involved in the day. All sessions are free.
Morning sessions- 9.45 for 10am start – for club coaches and their athletes. Athletes should be of good club standard (i.e. not beginners and aged 14/15 upwards, including Seniors).
- David Hemery will be leading a Coaching Session for coaches and their athletes in Hurdles and Multi Events.
- Neville Taylor is organizing an Endurance talk and training session for coaches and athletes.
- John Davis, a mentee on the National Coach Development Programme for Sprints will be delivering a 2 hour session for coaches and their athletes. (Limited places – 10 coaches, 10 athletes)
- Erik Little will be delivering a Jumps session (Long Jump and Triple) for Coaches and athletes.
Afternoon Session 1 to 4pm –
- David Hemery will be delivering a Coach Development Workshop coaches on the LCDP and in the SS Network. This is for coaches only.
Individual posters are available for each session to give more detail for help in promoting these events to your club colleagues.
Please book a place giving the name of the coach and athlete(s) to Chris Benning on cbenning@englandathletics.org or 07968 498708.
Endurance session – please contact Neville Taylor directly on nhtassociates@btinternet.com or 01403 790800/07841 504498
I regret that I could not arrange throws session for two reasons – Woking AC cannot have throws training until the end of the football season and also the date clashes with a National CDP session, which means that coaches would be hard to come by. |
