JIM DALE MBE
Past President (1980), a member of Surrey AC (now Kingston AC and Polytechnic Harriers). Jim died of a heart attack whilst viewing on television the European Cup from Gateshead. He spent his retirement years in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire where he was active on the local council as a representative for Sport & Recreation. He spent 36 years in the RAF and was honoured by the Queen for his service. In Surrey we remember him as a starter and for his association with Surrey AC and as a former president of Surrey County AAA. After his move he continued his active association with the sport through Blackpool and Fylde AC and Lancashire CAAA. |
